    doug444 STAMPS and POSTCARDS too!

Krause lists two types of 1881 English penny:

    1881 Fine $10
1881 Obverse as 1880, shield heraldically colored, Fine $100.

There's no illustration, and I don't have the slightest idea what this means. My 1881 has a design on the shield, but I don't know if it's the normal shield, or a "heraldic" shield.

Can someone tell me which variety I have? The image has been lightened quite a bit to make the shield show clearly.

The diagonal cross is split down the middle instead of having 2 skinny borders like the main vertical cross (St. George's cross). Yours is regular, sorry.
