Can anyone help me identify this coin. It was part of a collection I received from my Grandfather. It has a date of 1792 and the words Carol IIII D.G. and then HISP.GT IND.R. (If I make them out correctly) There is a profile figure of a man on the front, hair in ponytail. I rally can't make out the printing on the rear. The I tried to upload the photo but it is too large. I appreciate anyone who can assist. Thank you in advance. I can email photos to anyone if that would help.
I suppose it could be a 4 Escudos. Not really a lot of clues provided in the OP. http://www.cgb.fr/monnaies/vso/v18/gb/monnaiesgb7b5d.html?depart=1779&nbfic=2582
As always, value depends on the condition of the coin. If you wish, either post the pics in the Gallery or yuo can email them to me and I'll post them for you so that we can estimate the condition and thus the value. gdjmsp@qwest.net
