    manymore Chinese Charms

The Chinese to the left of the portrait identifies the goddess as "Mazu".

The Chinese inscription at the top of the reverse side translates as "People's Republic of China".

The Japanese inscription above the reverse side of the coin translates as the "Goddess of Navigation, Mazu".

According to the Japanese written above the list of 10 countries/flags, this is part of a set of large-scale world coins made of silver.

I did a quick check on a Chinese website. It is a 10 yuan coin minted at the Shanghai mint in 1998.
