I'm wracking my brain on this one. Can anyone help me out? I've looked at the Krause Catalog until my eyes got blurry. Thanks Ben
   Thanks, I was thinking it was probably an Africian issue. Was going to check it next but you beat me. Thanks B
Actually I cannot read Arabic, and do not actively collect coins from Northern Africa or the Middle East. But this one happens to be in my collection too, and I recognized it right away ... Christian
There are very few Islamic countries that have issued coins with the AH date in 'English' numerals.Tunisia is one of these. The dates AH1380 & 1960 do correspond exactly.I have an example of the AH1304 (1887) 1c. coin from Brunei. Aidan.
Tunisia "the Tunisian Central Bank" 20 "MILLIMAT" (MILS) DATE: AH 1380 = AD 1960 , KM 307. IT IS NOT HARD TO GET THAT COIN. I HAVE ANOTHER DATE OF THE SAME TYPE.
Also took me a while to find out that these two were from Tunisia. The coin itself doesn't give you many clues (unless you speak Arabic, of course) 50 Millim 1960 100 Millim 1960
