help with a link cent

okay fellas , i have a 1971 lincoln cent, completely normal, but it has an inscribed face of JFK to the right on the obv above the date. can anyone help? it's certainly cut very very well to be post mint..

Here is one on a 1964 cent. I have seen several different date coins with this same counter stamp. I do not know to much about them though.

 

Now that is different, I have never seen one of those before Thanks for sharing it with us :thumb:

I have one of these too; it came out of a roll. No idea of it's origin.

 

all of these type coins were done post mint and most with JFK had a card attached with comparisons to lincoln, they are not a numismatic rarity, there are also lincoln cents with pipes, and all sorts of other depictions.

I have one from 1973 .

They were very commercial. The accompanying card had a bunch of stuff about Kennedy having a secretary named Lincoln and Lincoln having a secretary named Kennedy, along with a bunch of other true and not-so-true coincidences.

 

If memory serves, I believe they were done by a novelty company, but that may have also been a small family type business,

I have the card that was attached to mine around here somewhere, a brief search did not produce it, I havent seen it for several years ,,but I know I have it some place.

wow, thanks guys. my bank's teller that helps me alot said her sister found it, thought it was die doubling ( dont know what was up with her) and gave it to let me see. i still have it. thanks for the info.

I have about 10 with reagan's face stamped into them.

 

I have a couple of these cents with the Kennedy counterstamp. I bought one when I was a kid out of a bubblegum machine about 30 years ago. It came inside one of those clear plastic bubbles typical of gumball machines, glued to a folded up piece of paper that had the Lincoln/Kennedy coincidences printed on it. The other one I have was found in pocket change by a friend less than 10 years ago.

Yeah, I got one at K-Mart when I was a kid that came with the Lincoln kennedy Coincedence card. I still have it.
