Could someone give me some direction with this coin, perhaps without giving it away completely? I would really like to figuer it out myself, but so far I am getting nowhere. Perhaps a clue or 2 would get me on my way. -Daniel
Ok, good stuff. Actually, I had already noticed that the reverse was upside down - that looked like a crown that should be at the top. But the Scottish coins - that is a good place to start. Thank you guys. I will probably be back for more, though. -Daniel
Well, it is starting to look a lot like: Charles II (1649-1685), Copper Bawbee or Sixpence Scots, 7.02g., 1678, OBV: CAR•II•D•G•SCO•AN•FR•ET•HIB•R, draped and laureate bust left, Rev.,crowned thistle, NEMO•ME•IMPUNE•LACESSET•1678•, (S.5628) especially, sine I can now pretty much read the date as 1678 (now that I know where to look for it. Does that sounds about right? -Daniel
