I'm trying to figure out what's going on with this peace dollar. It obviously has some die cracks on the obverse. I haven't matched it to a specific VAM yet but I'm still comparing it to others on VAM World. The coin appears to have a misaligned die on the reverse. You can see the double rim on the left side of the reverse. There is some kind of vertical clash going thru the E in ONE on the reverse. I'm not sure what it is or is caused by?

It doesn't appear to be a clash through the "E". It looks like there is metal pushed up along the right edge. I think it took a hit from something and skipped along the surface. PMD.

What you have on the reverse is a Collar-clashed rim. The pattern going through the E of ONE is PMD, looks like something almost skipped along the surface kicking up some metal as it made each contact. I do not see this coin currently listed on the VAM World pages. I would suggest vetting the coin on the V.W. site to let the pros there help out. Colonelwillys & David Close are both active on the site and very accurate on the Peace Dollars.

I appreciate the replies and help. The PMD on the E looked too uniform to me so I thought it might be something else. Disappointing but still an interesting coin with the die cracks and collar clashed rim. Thanks for clearing up the rim issue as well. I've got a lot to learn with errors. I'm not a member on the VAM World forum but it's time I joined up there since VAMS interest me. I'll try putting it up there.
