I found a 2002-P Lincoln that is a minor DDR. It is probably too minor to list, but that isn't what I need help with. There is a weird hunk of metal in the upper portion of bay 1. It may be a large die chip but it just looks different. It looks like a small section of column. I mean it is almost the full width of a column. Then again it looks like it was peeled down from where the bay meets the roof, but there is no metal gone and no zinc showing. Then again it looks like a die crack connects it to the roof on each side. It is a little similar to 2002P-1DR-005. The minor doubled column starts in the same place, but is only about half as long. The key attribute for that coin is a large die crack and chip at the top of bay 1, but it looks nothing like the "chip" on my coin. Take a look and see what you think. Here is the link to 1DR-005 on coppercoins. Again, I don't think it is mine. It is just for comparison. http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=2002&die_id=2002p1dr005&die_state=mds
That's what I thought at first, but if it was wouldn't the zinc be showing? I have had a suggestion of possibly struck through a plating scrap. It has also been brought to my attention that 2002 was a bad year for die breaks in that area.
