    Hello,
I was visiting your site looking for information on dealers and noticed you had a forum for errors. My question is Vam Morgan dollars, is this a type of error? I know it has been around since the 70's but I have been away from U.S. coins for years and now I see allot of vam this and vam that advertised. I have 4 different mint mark varieties one being the s/s but I am not sure what the other three could be, is there anyone at this site who could tell me more?

    I think there are S/S O/S CC/CC O/CC...but there might be more.

No CC's minted in 1895. Last year was 1893.

    Check out Ashmore

Lots of pics so it may take a minute to fully load. Dial-up users beware.

I just listed the "over mintmarks" for all of the dates...I don't know of any for 1895.

I think there are only five different VAMs for 1895-S (1, 1A, 2, 3, 4). There was only one size 'S' used for that year. There are a couple S/S varieties. One shows a shift, one had the other S punched horizontally instead of vertically.
VAMs are not always errors. They are just a designation for the die pairs used.
