I inherited a Confederate Loan bond with all but two coupons intact. I would appreciate help to identify the issue more specifically. It is for $100 authorized on August 19, 1861 at 8%. It is signed by Ro. Tyler as the Register of the Treasury and printed by B. Duncan, Richmond. It is signed and dated on 16 July 1862 and is #333. It has a portrait vignette of a younger clean-shaven man facing 3/4 to his right. In the margin it is dated July 1, 1881 and the coupons are hand-signed by G. E. Dabney. What is the approximate value of this item in the current marketplace. It has been folder...any suggestions on how to get the wrinkles out. It is quite an attractive piece.

    Thanks,

Can you post pictures? Im not sure if the note has any value beyond collector value, and im unsure what that would be without seeing the note :)

am sending a scan of the document. I am just curious about the people portrayed and any other historical information.

Thanks for your interest. I am a complete novice at this but I am very curious about this item.

The last one sold in VF condition with 6 coupons intact for $42.
Your looks to be near the same condition, less the coupons. But it is a different type.

Here is a link to the Heritage sale :$100 BOND

    Thats a neat piece.:thumb:

Oh & you could put it in a heavy book ,but the creases will still be evident to the trained eye- although it will probably look better.
