Help to identify a Gold coin

    It looks like a gold fanam from the Princely state of Cochin, India. These were struck from the 1600's to the 1800's.

    Cool coin. In India do they not put dates on coins?

    On this type, no, though there are many other types from this age there are dates. For the fanam shown above, an expert would probably be able to determine the mint and general time period based on the design, weight, etc. There a lot of fakes of these, however, I cannot determine if it is real or not.
