I had ordered the us mint gold proof coin for $230 (jamestown) the coin was damaged i returned it back long before feb 12 they are now processing the exchange and have billed me 255 the new price they have ripped me off. Can anyone give me the number or email of the mint director. This is ridiculous. If anyone else has any other suggestions I am all ears. thanks
Hey Spock1...it seems to me that the mint has refunded you the original $$$$ of the coin. The pre issue pricing is over and if you want it replaced you have to pay the other price. You could however, write a letter to the Mint Customer Service team and explain that you simply would like to get it replaced at the pre issue pricing. You may need proof of the shipping and ordering information to accompany your request. Good luck!! RickieB
This may help I'm not sure For More Information Contact: Michael White Office of Public Affairs of the US Mint (202) 354-7222
Thats the thing the mint has not refunded me anything not a cent back on my credit card. Thanks for the phone number. I think if you are doing an exchange its not a new sale so the mint cannot charge me new pricing. Thats being a con in my book.
Of course the Mint can't "fleece" you if you don't run like a sheep to their shearing pen - the place they sell overpriced NCLT! As someone says in their sig line - That's just my opinion and others may differ.
was it out of the plastic?? man, they better get quality control going over there. Out of the plastic is ssimply NOT acceptable.:hammer:
even worse it had scratches on the coins. now they are going to charge me $25 for changing a defective product after i alreadly lost about 7 dollars in shipping. the mint should understand that all collectors are not millionaires some of us take the bus
Cherry picking- is it that season already? I thought we were still in winter Ill call the number you gave me and let you know how it goes. Some of this stuff is just ridiculous. I wish everyone was like you ND86 life would be a walk in the park then. Thanks for always being there. P.S You should really conside the website (or book) ND86's guide to a better coin life with coins and without hassles
The mint is not on my favorite sellers list right now. My psychiatrist changed my medications and told me to quit dealing with the mint. He also suggested taking up less stressful hobbies. He recommended sky diving, mountain climbing or stunt driving.
ND86 i called the number you got is it the marketing department? I did not get Thelma. I called the main number again and they said I had to talk to the claims department. The mint keeps pushing me around this time the rep saw the problem but said they were not in a position to help me i am feeling pretty low they see the problem but they cant fix it?
I would call Mike White if you do not get any help. He has been a great help to me in the past. Cant hurt to try
yes thank you but i am just amazed at these shady attempts by the mint to collect more money i cant beleive they are resorting to this. If i get one of thier surveys from 1 to 5 i will rate them a 0.
Thanks for the info. I had a 4 hour marathon session with the mint. i cant beleive i got up at 6 am to do that but they have promised to fix it. The guy who picked up the phone I didnt catch his name but it was a different kind of voice (like that helps) Patience is a virtue I know before and after the 4 hour session. P.S with you around I am not worried about it getting fixed thats a done deal. If the mint process fails then Ill bring the big guns from ND86's collection
Thank you all for your valuable support and contribution and support the mint has given me the refund for the excess amount and the coins are now on their way. If the coins are not damaged again it will be a successful resolution. Special round of thanks to ND86 and philly dog. (The taste off the pudding is in the eating but I haven't seen the coins yet so there wont be any premature celebrations)
