A co worker wants me to help her sell a coin, she almost sold it to a a shop for 20$ I told her I'm sure it's worth more just from how good condition it's in. It has a few scratches on the front, but look amazing for the age of it.

I'm just wonder if anybody here could help with approximate value of the coin.

Based on these images I would put the value at about melt - see www.coinflation.com

I could be wrong, so by all means please get as many opinions as possible, but understand that age doesn't necessarily mean an increased value. I've bought coins a thousand years older than this for less than $20.

$20 seems like a good price from a shop...for that coin.

The 1921 is the most common of all Morgan dollars with more than 80 million struck between Philly, Denver & San Fran. $20 seems to be a fair price for a raw coin, and it wouldn't be worth it to have this one submitted for grading.

OP age does not always mean a coin is rare. Morgan dollars go back to 1878. They were struck mostly to support silver prices for crony miners. Most of them never circulated. They were just bagged and stored in vaults.

Chris said it quite accurately. 1921 Morgans are the most generic of this series, so $20 is the best she can get, unless you can find a sucker out there somewhere. Ha, ha!

physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

That is an incredibly common coin, and it is circulated, and it is polished. Take the $20 and run.

Buffed a bit for sure......$20 would be a generous offer.
