Hello everyone, Coppercoin only has photo of 98 of 1984 showing, I think I have this DDO, heres some photos of the top of the hair, the lower bust, liberty, and the date, my date has a tiny bump in the lower 8, thanks everybody
This one aint it. For one thing, there is no notching I can see on LIBERTY and the letters are not extra thick. There should also be strong doubling on TRUST, which is not present on your coin, and the doubling on the bust looks flat and shelf-like unlike the real thing. Your coin is not Die 2.
I couldn't find any photos to match up with, hoping somebody could help with photos to match for an example, heres a bigger one of the bust, thanks non cents
Just use coppercoins.com.... http://coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1984&die_id=1984p1do002&die_state=mds
I have no interest in grading or determining if this is a die variety or error. All I want to pass on. 2009 not long after Lp 2 Lincoln was released . Anacs had a free shipping offer with free shipping both ways.but you had to send in 16 coins.at that time I was selling on ebay. I had to 15 Morgan dollars to send in but need one more. So I added a Lincoln memorial cent 1964-P. Anacs graded MS66R Double die Obv but no details or die #. I sent photo etc coppercoins Mike hunted too long. Someone had won it on ebay .
This is not a DDO. I have several of the type you are asking about and I may have an image. If I can find which file it's in, I'll post it. In the meantime, as a description, the bottom of the bust on the DDO#2 is nicely doubled and the lower right of the 8 in the date appears enlarged as does the numeral 4.
Good morning everybody,I've taken new photos, and I'm going to use coppercoins images too, first coppercoins photo of the Date and here my next, a photo of coppercoin Liberty and heres a photo of my next, a photo of coppercoin We and here my next, a photo of coppercoin Trust and heres my next, a photo of coppercoin lower Bust and heres my I can only post 10 photos, so if you want to see the hair, its posted already
heres a lesson on how to show the true flow of the doubling on Liberty, and the date, first, the doubling is running west to east, if you want to know how I got theses great photos of the flow, let me know
o-ya, coppercoin didn't do a good job on their photos, way-out of plum, leveling is good, long live the masons, local 1 detroit, michigan
Your coin is not die 2. Coppercoins.com does a great job of showing notching and separation...two things that don't seem to be present on the coin you posted.
Its off to wexlers, I'll repost when I get it back, and yes non cents they do take good photo of die scratches, groves, and etc. but thoses photos (DDR-002) are way out of plum, you can't argue that, unless you don't know what plum means
No one is going to have to give an apology. It isn't in the same universe with the pics you posted from coppercoins of 1984P-1DO-002.
Your coin is not a doubled die 002 and I'm certain that John will say the same. The coppercoins pics are perfectly clear and consistent with my description of the date. Strong doubling and grooves on the lower right portion of the 8. That doubling is not present on your coin. By the way...there is also a nice 1984 D cent with almost identical doubling so check those as well. Have Fun, Bill
