Was the other one the same year? If so, was it in the exact same place? If so, it could be a Rad MAD clash.
yes same year and same place i am still going through rest of the bag maybe i will find another ,,thanks guys
Since you seem to think it is a clash, tell us what element on the reverse die could have created this? Chris
I don't see that your overlay lines up with the marks above the date, but even with that, please explain how the hammer & anvil dies could be about 33% out of alignment. Chris
It would be the denticles from the rim. It could only happen like the overlay above...a radically misaligned die clash. I found one of these a few months back: http://maddieclashes.com/LMC-1993-01.html
Here is the link to the image eddio posted. It's listed. http://maddieclashes.com/MDC-CA1c-1963-01.html
The point I'm trying to make is that your theory with the original photo doesn't jive with the close-up of the area above the date. This does look like a clash, but it doesn't have the same alignment. Chris
The first set of images do not show anything above the date. It just shows, what appear to be, a clashed set of denticles near the rim. You wanted an explanation of how it could happen. I believe that's why eddio posted the other images...to show a rad MAD. I don't know what you are getting at, Chris. I didn't theorize that they were the same and should jive.
thanks chris ,these 2 were found by me and were sent to maddieclashes.com..i am sure there is some explanation for this i believe its just a learning process..
