Can anyone please tell me if oak will harm coins? For storage purposes please I need a quick answer. Anyone have any experience with oak storage?

If you are talking about a coin cabinet made of oak - it is not advisable. Mahogany is the recommended wood for this use.

Good advice GDJMSP! I would, if at all possible, stay away from any storage that involved wood. Wood draws and holds moisture and thats only the beginning! If you were going to invest $90 you can add a few more bucks and buy a safe that will last you a lifetime? Even then one can still have worries!
