so this was meant to be sort of an xmass present to myself. didnt pay much for it on ebay but it took 3 weeks to come and when it did i had to pay to get because it had no postage on it. now to top it of now that i have it in hand i think it may be fake. i know its a bit specilised so people may not know but im sure some one here does. this guy is getting some bad feed back for sure sory the pics suck btw but they are the best i could do
Upfront, let me say I have never seen this piece before. I saw a few completed listings on eBay, they all look just like this one with varying amounts of wear and date, and it looks like they tend to sell for <$2. Also, I am not sure yet what to make of it, but I looked at one seller's feedback, and they have sold 28 of these in the last 13 months. (That's out of 150 total feedback.) FWIW, I hope this helps.
I wouldnt leave any negative feedback until you get your ducks in a row, and give him an opportunity to explain or make it right (if need be)
I think if this were posted over in the world/ancient forum you would get more opinions regarding the piece. Normally, double posting is a no, no but in this case I feel it's warranted. Unless one of the mods could move it.
sorry i took so long to reply just what with christmas and the winter vomiting bug (not nice) ive been a bit busy. i know what the coin is the reason i thought it may have been fake is because it is much brighter and has much sharper lettering then any i have ever seen befor. also to me the lettering has a sort of modern look to it.
it was less then a pound so its not a huge loss if i find it is fake. another thought was that it was possibly gold plated
i think they are great and a great piece of history i have a few of these as they sort of fit with my collection
