I have been using NGC slab boxes for storage. About 60 percent of my PCGS slabs fit easily in them but the other 40 percent are either too fat or too wide. Will the current PCGS box take care of the problem considering that TPG has had various designs? Thanks!
I use the guard house aluminum 30 slab cases and they're universal for regular width slabs. I haven't found a "perfect" slab case yet though.
All my PCGS graded coins fit in the NGC box. The original rattlers are too small to stay in the slots, but I just stick them in the middle slot of the box. I've heard the NEW PCGS holders require all new storage boxes. Figures.
NGC boxes used to house PCGS slabs as well as their own, but recent changes tp PCGS holders have changed that. Now, no one makes a box that works well for all. If PCGS wanted too, they could simply re-tool the cover to accept NGC slabs, and then their boxes would work universally.
I always save the cardboard shipping boxes that NGC uses to send my coins back to me. Some are single row 20 ct. and some are double row 50 ct. They are great for storing slabs of all sizes. Chris
If you want to store the new PCGS slabs in NGC boxes, store 19 per box, such that one slab is using, for example, slot 1 on the left side of the box and slot 2 on the right side.
New pcgs slabs won't fit in ngc boxes ngc slabs fit in pcgs boxes but you gotta put a couple rubber bands on the cover. I got tons of both especially pcgs as they send me one every order.
