c29951441-a.jpg Hi guys and gals! I was hoping I might pick your collective brain and see if I could get some second opinions on this Morgan that I bought. I truly loved the way the coin looked so I went a bit over what I normally would pay for this year/mm. The toning is what drew me in, but upon further review I think that the coin may be undergraded. Please let me know what you think and I'll post the grade after some responses. Thank you!

Nice Morgan. Hit wise the coin looks very clean (like MS66), but I think the strike and the luster are going to knock it down. From the pics, the luster looks very flat and with the weak strike I'd say MS64 (imo, the TPG's are a little tough on the early S coins, and it would need more luster to make 65).

No higher than 64 IMO. That big hit on the cheek kills it, even if you assume the luster is there.

Yeah, that bruise on the cheek looks hurtful .

Thanks for the opinions, guys! It is indeed a 64... old NGC holder. I thought that the hits were minimal but didn't really notice how weak the strike was (especially on the eagle's chest). Live and learn I suppose... thank you.
