It's not in the normal list of double dies to look out for but it's a pretty big error. 2004 d mint has clear c and o ghost lettering around one cent and looks like another faint o behind the "of" on top. It looks legitimate to me. Just wondering if anyone else has seen this error before and what it is identified as... It doesn't look like the normal double dies I've seen. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
At this point the area around ONE CENT looks like simple staining, but your photos are far from ideal.
It can't be a dropped element because the font is totally different. A better close-up may or may not help. Chris
Maybe a full image a bit closer? I see something, is it raised, flat or incused (pressed inward)? As the experts say above a better pic is needed.
