Can anyone lend a hand as to what this was for and around what era it is from? I assume it is a bus token and could be from Minneapolis area because I found it next to a Twin Cities Lines bus token.

Interesting token, but I don't recognize it even though I lived in Minneapolis for 16+ years until 1981. I also used the bus line and used tokens, but not like yours.

Is it the same on the other side?

Hm. The majority of Twin Cities public transportation tokens that I've seen look like this:

    Or this:

Not to say that it isn't one, but I've never seen one similar to the one posted.

Like others, I'm also curious what's on the other side.

and it could be completely unrelated... I mentioned the Twin Cities because it was sitting next to this that I was hoping might lead to a clue!

Probably not a transportation token, looks more like a tool check or something along those lines

What you have is an amusement token from St. Paul, MN (Ramsey Co.), Alpert/Smith id # 760 MCH.
