I just pulled this out of a roll of pennies...even though it's closer to the size of a nickel lol.

I put it in a couple of coin image searches and even a google image search...no matches.

Google image search was able to only match only the 3 characters directly above his head on another (Chinese) coin but no matches for this coin.

    Really I'm just curious thanks!

    Taiwan. 1 yuan, mingguo 94, aka 2005.

At 20 to the dollar, not worth a whole lot.

You’re right. In English the call it the New Taiwan Dollar. In Taiwan it’s variously called yuan, kuai (sort of like “buck”), or xing tai bi (literally new Taiwan dollar).

most common terminology is kuai. Xing tai bi is a mouthful so not used too much in daily parlance.
