Help identifying Foreign Currency?

I have what may be some type of script that is circular in shape, has stitching on the inside circumference, has Asian character writing on it, and is marine blue in color. It also feels like a nylon texture. Can you identify it and its possible value?

Have to admit I have never seen anything like that before Hopefuly one of the other guy's will have some idea as to what they are.

 

can we get scan that are bigger? maybe post the pictures on photobucket or some other site, and then post the links here. the posted images are too small to see whats on the 'coins'

all i get is the opriginal image at the original size.

Try scanning it at like 300 or 600 dpi .. this will allow us to zoom in closer using the default IE picture viewer....

I believe this forum only allows you to attach no larger than 250kb file sizes to this board, so I reduced an original 750kb file in order to get it on this board.

 

yep. the forum doesnt want pics that are too large. Can youtake that 750kb file and upload it to a site? at the size it is, all i see are the wrinkles... sorry.

I scanned the currency again. This time it is a 748kb jpg.file on Webshots. If it still can't be seen clearly, I don't know what to do next.

perfect!!! it worked just perfectly ... i was able to zoom in on that new scan .. unfortunately i cannot tell you anythign about the coins/currency .. i was hoping i would be able to see somthign in the 'text' but alot of it looks to be some kind of symbols or hieroglyphs ...

Korean War Money??

Just a hunch, but I seem to remember my uncle bringing it home from serving in Korea in the early 1950's There are definitely Asian characters printed on it, its stitched on the inside like a seam around the circumference using a sewing machine definitely. It is like an aqua marine blue in color.

 

could be. . but i have NEVER seen official cirulating currency that was sewn or embroidered. if there is threading like that ... it does make me wonder ...
