First off, I'd just like to say hey as a new member of the forum and a relatively new coin collector. So uhh, hey. I've got my fair share of wheat pennies, some silver coins, a handful of bicentennial quarters and a couple coins I recieved from my grandfather, including a Columbian Exposition Half in great condition, a 3 cent piece from 1874, and an 1834 capped bust dime, along with a few other coins from the same era. Then I read online about coin roll hunting and decided to give pennies and dimes a go. After going through a few boxes of pennies and a box of dimes, I happened to find some coins that stood out enough for me to keep them. Any help with determining whether or not any of these are of value would be greatly appreciated. The first one is a 1990 P dime that seems to be missing the outer layer, leaving the surface with only copper. This is more apparent on the front than on the back. Highest hopes are in this one. The edge is the classic dark grey of zinc metal, and I've never seen any other penny like it. It's much more visible on the reverse side of the coin. The dime looks like it just likely was given a chemical bath to remove the clad layer. In that case, it's worth 10 cents. The 1974 S penny was struck with a loose collar and is worth a couple of cents due to the copper in it, the 84 penny is clearly offset, but I have no idea of the value since it is so slightly off, the 89 penny looks just like a penny did after I torched it as a kid, but there could be something to it I suppose. The state penny is worth nothing extra unless you find someone who needs that one for their collection. Full sheets of the state pennies (all 50) routinely sell on ebay for under $20. But I'm a rookie myself, so I'd wait for a pro to chime in. Just giving my opinion from the little I have learned.
