I've seen a thread in 'whats worth it' section in this forum. Seems no one is replying to the particular thread. I'm also interested to know what it is.. http://www.cointalk.org/showthread.php?t=22265
Aidan, are you sure about this? Can you let me know from which coin this particular design is taken? And whats written on this?
Strangly enough I believe that I have just gven one of those away in my last giveaway LOL De Orc :kewl:
Biju,I can't read Arabic (apart from the numerals),but the design has a very Central Asian Turkic look to it. It looks too good to be a genuine Bokharan coin,as the Bokharan mint was striking coins by hand even as late as 1920,& they would have been struck in copper, not brass. Aidan.
I believe this is a Galata Bridge Token from Istanbul, Turkey. Here is a closed auction with some good information. http://cgi.ebay.ie/Ottoman-Turkey-Galata-Bridge-Token-20-Para_W0QQitemZ160087207126
