Help identify this, please.

    This was in a small group of world coins and I am curious about it. I took a picture of it with a dime to show thickness. In my hand it is darker than the pictures, but without using some light to photograph it, the details did not show. It leaves me with some questions. Where was it made? Is it made from copper? How old is it?

    Thanks for any help you can give me.

    I'm 'wild guessing' a clipped Islamic coin.
    Copper civic, Safavid period (1501-1722)?

    I'm guessing it's from one of the Indian states. From the colonial era, there were the British India coins and then a bunch of independent principalities that had their own coins. That looks like one of the latter.
