I am a new member that joined earlier tonight and was using the search feature to find answers to my questions but I can't find much on the Cohen mint.

Has anyone used the Cohen mint? Are they a good company? Are their products good? Do people like their smaller gold coins?

I saw they had an issue with shipping and that they sent the order out at the last minute when the BBB was notified, but that could have been a coincidence. Anyone have anything to say about them, good or bad?

There's a forum thread at another site that discusses problems people have had with delivery and such.

I have never shopped at Cohen Mint so I can not tell you about the company. However people do like smaller bullion coins because they tend to be more affordable then buying larger coins and bars. However I would caution you if you were looking at this as a way to invest in bullion, as smaller weights have a larger premuim. For example they are selling one troy grain of gold for $4.99. There are 480 grains in a troy ounce so the cost of one troy ounce of gold is $2395.20. At end of business day on Dec 24 2009 gold was $1105.20. That is a premuim of about 116%.

So good for buying as a novelty but not as an investment

Thanks, I'd be doing it as a collection, not as an investment. Just wanted to know what people had to say about them before I place in order.

Can I bump this? If I wasn't supposed to, can someone PM me that you can't bump threads and the frequency that you can. Sorry, just want to have proper manners while using this board.

I've bought from Cohen mint before and didn't have any problems. I got a 1 kilo copper bar mostly as a novelty to add to my bullion stash. Cohen mint was the cheapest out of all of the sellers, and continues to be (recently checked), for this item. Tip about the copper bars: don't buy the smaller bars (from this or any seller), as gram for gram they are more over priced, go for the larger 1+ kilo bars of copper.

    Just my two cents.

thanks, that is what I was looking for. I was thinking about their kilo copper bar but people tell me that it is a rip, but I think it would look cool with my tiny silver and brass collection. Anyone else?
