    Hello all I'll start off saying that I am not a paper currency collector. I have saved notes that I think are cool like silver certificates but I really dont know what im doing. I am however wanting to start collecting. I know a few things that I have read while on here terms like binary, radar, and I know what star notes are but can someone point me to a good reference for paper currency collecting? One more thing I got 2 consecutive $1 star notes yesterday that has an ever so slight bend in them, I have put paper currency in a book that I have that has straighten out old bills that have alot of crinkles in them in the past but is it ok to do so? Thanks in advance

    This is the Red Book for paper money: http://www.amazon.com/Guide-United-States-Paper-Official/dp/0794832407
    Other than that I don't really know a lot about collecting Paper money so I'll leave that to the experts here on CT. Also you could probably Google it. I own a silver certificate other than that I know nothing about paper money collecting. Just trying to help you out with what little info I know. Thanks! -Andy-

    eric6794, welcome aboard; strap yourself in and enjoy the adventures. A few links to a few references to assist you:
    == update for Andy's link
    https://www.whitman.com/store/Inven...ited-States-Currency---6th-Edition+0794843824
    == Friedberg catalog , the standard for paper money currency

    Another is Standard Guide to Small-Size U.S. Paper Money 1928 to date, 10th Edition is current and supposedly last to be published. A 9th is good if that's all you can find.
    Caveat: don't necessarily use these for pricing or values as such but are a good beginning. Watch auctions, eBay listings, etc. for prices and valuations.
