What kind of packaging is this? Some sort of US mint soft pack? I have a Rosie just like this, same packaging, same year, same mint mark, but mine is in much better condition. This is a stock photo off eBay. I don't remember why I have this, saw it this weekend in my box of miscellaneous junk coins. I'm guessing it's worth $5 tops to someone dumb enough to buy it, in perfect condition. ??????
Mint set packaging. The coins are heat-sealed between sheets of plastic. They can be cut apart with scissors to handle individual coins without removing them from the plastic. We've seen examples where a coin in a set got run over by the sealing wheel, leaving treadmarks indented into its surface.
US Mint has that type of packaging for coin sets. But I think companies like Littleton Coins, etc also had similar type of packaging even for individual coins.
The concept is similar with those aftermarket packages, but this coin is US Mint packaged, evidence being the red border signifying Denver mint.
Thanks for the replies! I'm not lying when I said mine is A LOT better looking condition. At first I thought it might be a proof, but nah. And no, not taking photos, most of you have seen mine. Still don't have a proper camera stand.
