Hello, can anyone shed some light on what this "thing" is? Please

    Hello, I was just wondering if any of you may have the slightest clue as to what is going on with this coin because I have been going crazy trying to figure out what happened to this coin to make it what it is today.. so my question for you all is What is this?? Sorry about the large pics but the thumbnails wouldn't work for some reason? This coin is 4.8g and the other coin in the picture is a nickel. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out it is appreciated big time!

    Yes it looks to be reeded but only a thin line and the rest is folded over to where it looks worn down.
