I tried to register on another forum, but apparently they either don't accept new members (says they moderate signups), or they just don't want me. Either way, I'm glad I found another place to discuss currency! Welcome me home I do have some coins (not sure if I should list them all heh), but for example an 1805 1/2 cent, 1852 braided cent, 1865 2c, 1851 and 1865 3c, etc. (and so on) of U.S. coins, and a fair amount of coins from various countries. For the most part though (which is why I'm posting this here), I'm mainly interested in foreign and U.S. currency. I'm not sure if the foreign currency is much to write home about. I doubt any of what I have would make anyone's jaw drop here (not that that's the intent of my collection). Plenty from all over the world, but I'm mostly interested in the ones I like (they caught my eye for some reason), rather than aquiring specific countries or specific rare bills. I just realized this is a long way of telling absolutely nothing. Anyhow, I'm trying to figure out how to order my U.S. currency. I have random notes from various years, no real complete sets of any series or denomination, thus the collection looks (and is) somewhat haphazard. It probably doesn't help that I've only got 3 pocket (large note) notebook-style (bring on the boos and hisses) pages, and all of the small notes could go into 4 pocket pages. Anyway, I guess this will be hello, and next thread (be ready for many) will cover a specific question (such as how to order and organize all of this). I used to have all my foreign notes randomly placed in... an evelope heh (so at least I'm improving if nothing else). I'll try to ramble less next time...
Welcome to the forum samjimmy The paper forum is relatively new here so responses may be a bit slower. Me, I'm a coin guy mostly, but I'm always up for learning something new about the currency that passes through my hands every day. Even though there are less dedicated paper money collectors, there are still some very knowledgeable and helpful folks. Again, welcome.
Thanks for the lone, but warm welcome lawdogct. I actually just noticed that there wasn't much action here (yet) in terms of currency, however as it is my only discussion outlet (I'm a forum junkie), you all have left me no choice to post I'll scan some of my bills just so others can scan theres and show me how much better theirs are I'd love to own UNC versions of my notes but funding doesn't permit that, so I'm happy with what I have, and envy and drool over what I can't afford.
