Hi, I had a rummage through the site to find info on a gold Sovereign I own, but this is a much bigger place than I expected :rolling: & Google searches haven't clarified matters for me any either. :computer:

I have a 2002 Jubilee commemorative Sovereign marked as bullion, embedded in a card inside a sealed plastic sleeve with the word 'MINT' on one end (see uploaded scans here):

I paid a Salisbury jeweller £125 for it in July this year & was told it was probably worth more. However, the list price here: http://www.goldsovereigns.co.uk/2002sovereigns.html is a bit confusing.... am I correct in assuming that it originally retailed from the Royal Mint in 2002 at £110, but may now be worth £195??

It's all too confusing to this non-numismatist (did I spell that correctly?)
Any information that the learned peeps of this board can provide would be gratefully received. :)

    TIA Smiffy :)

I can't tell you anything about its numismatic value, or its original mint price, but it contains just a hair under 1/4 ounce of pure gold, putting its bullion value right at $191 (~£90)when the market closed yesterday.
