I ordered some bison p & d rolls over a month ago and was backordered until 4/29. I called the mint today to ask them and they couldn't find my order. She said they did find a blank page for me and also said the site had some problems. I have an email confirmation from them and order number but its not in "their" system, go figure. You may want to check if you ordered over the net.
Mine is still showing the ship date listed below. I hope that this is a good omen. But of course, this is the US Mint we are talking about. No the search on the website revealed nothing. I ordered some other bisons the first day (and got them a while ago) and when I checked the website back then it revealed nothing as well but I still got the coins. Oh well I reordered but I'm bummed I missed out on this batch of new errors. Thanks Mint!
You think you'r bummed out do you? All this time I've been ordering the nice coins from the mint, not knowing you could also order "error" coins. Man, just think of all the money I've been passing up.....double bummers!!!
LOL Actually the Bisons from the mint have been packed with error coins. I'll Bet there are more error coins in the Bisons then there are MS 66 coins. I got a box full of Bison error coins to prove it. My stack of high grade bisons is very small.
Backordered Bison Nickels I phoned the mint today and a very nice lady told me that any order which has the backordered date of 5/27/05 will receive their order. My earlier order of Bison Nickels was also backordered until 4/29, but it was later changed to a backorder date of 5/27. She also told me the mint was over-whelmed and they could not have anticipated the volume they received. I guess the Peace Metal Nickel, Keelboat Nickel, 2004 Nickel Series Sets, and the Coin and Metal Set didn't teach them anything. I hope that I can believe this person that I talked with, but I am sure they have been given their pat answers to all customers. Jim
