riff I ain't got time to bleed

In the early 40s, a lot paper money was recalled from Hawaii because if Japan were to invade and occupy, they would have lots of US currency at their disposal. To prevent a cash shortage, these were overprinted with HAWAII so that those notes could be identified and made worthless in case of occupation. 20191221_165614.jpg 20191221_165634.jpg

I’ve never heard it called Occupation Currency before. I typically hear and use the term Wartime Emergency Issue, which includes both Hawaiian and North African Notes.

Steve is right I think....the notes weren't recalled bills, they were PRINTED AS SUCH.

I just added this to my collection, it's the star of my bill collection: 1935A Hawaii WW II FR 2300 PMG 67 front.jpg

I have a $1.00 , $10.00 & $20.00. Not high grade but fit fine in my collection. Couldn't get a $5.00 at a decent price. Here is my $20.00 Federal Reserve note.
