Hawaii Medal

This is something I forgot I had.
I came across it digging through a box in the safe and thought I'd share it.

This is the official statehood medal commermorating the admission of Hawaii as the 50th state of The United States of America, on August 21, 1959.

Now I like the State seal side it has a classic look to it, but think that the other lets it down slightly, it looks touristy if you know what I mean

 

That does look like the original medal for statehood.
