Yeah...some guy is spreading them around town. I live in a small town of less than 2000 people and I'm getting them everywhere in change. So far I have been recieving them at the grocery, pharmacy, and bakery. I don't know why but seems like that guy is getting around town!
Other than the change machines in the lunch room at work, I almost never get them in change anywhere. I guess maybe cashiers are afraid of offending someone.
King Soopers gave me a few in change, all though I did ask for them instead of dollars... My local bank (I live rural also) gives me head/tail rolls in BU condition when I go in for my monthly pennies...
i never get them, i spend them, but i can only get them at banks, even then they dont even have rolls, they just have loose and even then there arent many /:
The Mint is trying to do there part by offering direct ship pres dollars at face value! http://catalog.usmint.gov/webapp/wc...storeId=10001&catalogId=10001&identifier=8100
I haven't gotten any in change, but I did get 5 BU 2010P Buchanan dollars from the local Hyundai dealer. Chris
STILL have never seen any except the ones Green posted.... too rural I guess..of course when I ask at the bank, the teller collects for her son so there never are any coin dollars or halves. She did however, recently give over a couple Sacajewea (sp?) dollars (I was happy enough with them..) Lucy
I felt that the last time I went in for pennies! "Hey how about a nice roll of Lincoln Dollars to go with those Lincoln cents?"
Last year, I volunteered to staff a sales table for a non-profit organization. One gentleman paid with $200 of direct ship dollars, still in their rolls.
Not received in change, but as a cashier, I get them and give them back to customers. People hate them. If I get a bunch, I have to hide my paper dollars under the till, and say, "Sorry, all I have are dollar coins for change." Joe
