Has anyone seen something like this? Idk what this is....1965 Washington quarter misprint?

    Looks to be a donkey like print above the 2nd R in the word quarter. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you

    Coins are struck not printed. Paper Currency is printed.
    I see nothing..

    To be an error it would have to leave the mint like this.
    It's likely that this was done post mint.

    First, welcome to the neighborhood @MC511 !

    Your query is nothing unusual. We get people coming here all the time who think they have found something rare. The problem is that they aren't familiar with the minting process and don't know what the coins should and shouldn't look like.

    You also have to realize that the physical condition of coins in circulation can take on all sorts of strange shapes just from contact with other coins. Your coin falls into this category and is considered post mint damage.
