I couldn't resist a limited run privy mark and pre-ordered one yesterday. Planning/hoping to get the Navy and Marine varieties later this year as well (and whatever the hell "laser privy mark" means). The marketing folks at the mint know there's no chance I'd be able to resist it if they slapped that itsy bitsy little unique privy mark.

The price for a single ASE from the US Mint is absolutely ridiculous. For contrast, I tend to get ASEs from bullion vendors (been using JM Bullion for some time) which run ~$38-$40.

I've also got the '20 v75 privy ASE from and the newer '24 star privy and (awaiting shipping on pre-ordered) '25 flying eagle privy.

I can resist limited privy mark stuff all day long. It's like these pieces from the "old commemoratives. They were made to sell more coins to collectors and often met nothing.

Yeah I like privy marks. I like the Army theme. I'm very happy the Mint made a household limit of one. I missed out on all the 2021 Morgans and Peaces because of the site constantly crashing and dealers buying bunches at a time. I figured if I wanted this, I'd better hold my nose and click the pay button lol. They'll be too expensive on eBay later.

I've sworn off buying from the Mint due to their exorbitant prices. Albeit with one exception, the military themed silver dollars. So, yes, I placed my order and intend to order the additional issues for a complete set. And it occurred to me that I might want to have a complete set of 2025 Eagles, so I ordered the Proof and Uncirculated Eagles too. hmmmm. yeah I know. fickle....

They are interesting. Australia and Canada have been doing the privy mark thing for a while now. I think these sold out fairly quickly and I'm seeing tons of posts from buyers already in the after market.

Alabama was the 22nd state as 2*4 stood for Missouri as the 24th state.

Those devices were raised on the early strikes, and ground off for the later strikes.

Luckily the wait time went down considerably.

That's how they get you! :D Now that you mention it, I probably need that '25 PR/MS privy-less ones too -- good call!

Interesting marketing ploys of the US Mint, it was done with tokens as well by George H. Lovett with a little bit more transparency! :D Same but different!
