He is one of those controersial people in history.. Some admire him as the legendary king of 1001 nights while many attribute lots of crimes such as death of 1000s of shia muslims in his dark and harsh dungeons ... Here is my gold coin of Al-Rashid...

    Abbasid Caliphate . al-Rashid. AH 170-193 / AD 786-809

Nice coin - with al-Rashid the positives probably outweigh the negatives...

@Theodosius the coin is an abbasid dinar citing al-rashid's vizier Jaafar Barmakid. Jaafar was later beheaded by the order of al-rashid due to his power growth.
    the weight is 3.7 gram , 18mm reference: A-218.11

Thanks, @arashpour , it helps to visualize a coin to know these things. A lot of interesting history with this one.

@Theodosius no problem happy to share anything I know with you guys we all share the hobby of history. I love this coin specially as it cite the famous Jaafar Barmakid who was I can say most powerful prime minister of abbasid caliphate and exercised immense power for some time. The story of his death is interesting. It is been told that he had secret affair with Abbaseh the sister of al rashid . They got a kid and when al-rashid found out about this he got mad while he was drunk and asked his special servant/executor named masroor to bring head of Jaafar and that was end of his power.
