what do you think fellow searches has this one been discovered yet or should I try to get it to Wexler? The middle barrel and top of middle door.
This is just my opinion (others may differ) but I don't care too much for the minor doubled dies that are the result of the new coining technique used for coins like the ATB's. Some of them have more than 150 variations for the same coin. Personally, I wouldn't pay a premium for them. Chris
My favorite discovery coin was the 2005-S KS SQ Silver Proof, FS-901, Die Dent, NGC PF70UCAM. It was also a Top Pop with no others. Chris
Wexler has his... And why is this? I thought you had a discovery verified through him? If the OP is reasonably confident, I see absolutely no reason he shouldn't send it in or how it would automatically be a waste of his time. An accepted expert's opinion costing only a few bucks is a gift, even if the result isn't what was hoped for.
My discovery coin was submitted through Billy Crawford more than 11 years ago. I wasn't even aware that Wexler had a site at that time. Chris
It seems certain members may think I was rude to you. By saying don't waste your time. But if I can help another member not waste their time or money I will do so. Came across a lot of these in my first box. And I will be the first one to tell you. Do what you think is best. You know the old saying don't believe everything you read. The same on this site don't believe everything someone tells you. I'm just being honest with you and telling you I've Already had this one checked out. At least by Wexler. Basically came back MD.USMC60 The second photo here has a nice telephone box on the gutter. And as you can see on the barrel there's a nice hit
What does the door look like on your coins I'm no Wexler but I know a doubled die when I see one. my coin is a doubled die. see major doubling on the door frame
Really didn't notice the header in the doorjam. Thanks for pointing that out I'm no expert myself but I'd really like a couple of different perspectives of that door frame header. If at all possible. And as far as the coin that I'm showing it's in my safe somewhere sent that photo was taken a wild back. And if you send it in I'd really like to know what the results are. It's all a learning experience.
Have gone through several of mine and notice one thing on that door jam. If you noticed the other doors are closed. This is door on this one is open. Have noticed on several of mine that there is a pronounced header because of the open door. Some are more noticeable than others. But this is why I believe you we see a difference because of the door being open. Just a thought I could be wrong. But this is what I see and have seen on different coins.
