This can be a hard to find sample slab. But thanks to a member of another form I was able to acquire it. As far as I know there are five dates of this sample, now I only need four more. It is a very nice example of a sixth generation PCGS sample. I hope you enjoy it. Alan
Nice to see someone pick up the torch that was left burning 1 1/2 years ago by a talented young man that knew all there was to know about sample slabs.
Jeesh, you are right...was just this past Christmas....thanks for correcting me, Hobo. But, then again, seems like years ago already.
Hi lucyray The amount of generations is only determined by the TPG. Since TPG put out new slabs quite often. So with each new sample comes a new generation or slight change if you will. If you want to know more, click on my signature line and you can read my first three articles on the subject. Alan
I list about 23 generations of PCGS production slabs. (That doesn't include all the different variations of specialty labels that can be found. Those I list as Novelty slabs) There are not sample slabs of every generation. Some generations have no samples and others have several variations. Unlike Cameron I do not give a different catalog number to a sample slab just because it has a different coin in the holder
