    Howdy,

Havent been around for a bit, been quite busy. Maybe a few of you might remember me, also might remember I wanted to mint my own coins. Well, after a few years of trial an error and some help from various places I have begun minting and wanted to drop by and show my Hard Times Token.

This is the best strike of this coin I have made so it got to be the show piece, I am still working on alignment among others.

This is a Hard Times Token Half Cent (1/2₵)

Hard Times is repeated twice on the obverse with 'Bona Fide' or Good Faith cutting through basic decorative elements.

On the reverse is the phrase 'Salus Populi Suprema Lex Esto' or Let the good of the people be the supreme law or The welfare of the people shall be the supreme law, a quote from Cicero's De Legibus. The coin has a denomination of one half cent (1/2) which appears in the center of the reverse surrounded but a laurel wreath with a star. It is back by me and redeemable for double its value.

and a few strikes in copper. I am switching to copper but thats a bit harder than pewter.

Thanks, I am making the dies with ectro-chemical etching with hand touch-up. I am working on a set I am trying to etch by hand but it is a slow process for me. I am still working on getting a better impression on the copper which is much harder, I anneal but I am still getting a lot of surface imperfections (beyond scaling I think). The whole process is just trial and error. Pewter and silver I got covered now :)
