Hello. On the occasion of my thousandth post, I've decided to post this coin of Empress Eudoxia that I acquired yesterday and seems to be worth about one thousand dollars. Hope that is true. It's listed under RIC X- 83, struck in Antioch with officina A. The coin has a cross on the reverse in the right field. I'll also post another coin together, also with a cross but I can't identify. HAPPY EASTER... LOLS
Hey JA. I didn't clean it yet. At a little bit better condition, it was sold at that amount in the year 2009. That's what I read at Wildwinds.
Well, here is my $60 version (so my coin's cross is on the common-side ... the left-side) => I hope this helps? (good luck, 7) Aelia Eudoxia & Aelia Eudoxia on throne Cheers, fellas
No JA. It's bronze AE3. Listed as RIC- 83 Antioch A. In the text, they wrote that it was sold for 525 Swiss Francs in 2009. Notice that Steve's coin does not show a mint mark or even an officina.
I looked up the coin you're referring to. 525 Swiss Francs is 547 US dollars today. I don't know what it was in 2009, but probably not too much different. That coin is a condition rarity. You rarely see them with such a strong strike and clean surfaces. In fact, it's the best one I've ever seen of the type. Even if you cleaned yours up, it only grade Fine. It would probably sell in the 50-60 dollar range. Sorry to rain on your parade, but as in all coin collecting, higher grades can command very high premiums.
Of course VK. However, 50-60 Bucks are not bad at all.. One could imagine like collecting a hundred of these sweeties or their similar stuff.
