Im guessing you arent from America. What Nationality are you?
And its Chanukkah

 

Acutally it's spelled lots of ways, among them the way you both have spelled it.

It is not an English word, so the spelling is a matter of phonetics and open to debate.

That said, my favorite Hanukka/Chanukkah coins are filled with chocolate!
