I have listed a few of my hammered coins on the old bay but I want to make sure about this one so I don't list it incorrectly... I have my suspicions on what it is and I think it is very rare.....let me know what you guys think. Thanks Tom

anthony you have been very helpful....I get a bunch of this type of stuff both ancient and foreign quite a bit at the shop. I had a guy the other day come in with a ton of old ancient coins 1/2 of them were highly encrusted.. The problem is that he thinks they are worth a million dollars.... Your mouth would have been watering! :D

What IDs this as Eddie I? I was thinking Eddie IV based on the obverse legend.
Can you give me a Ref# for Spink or Coincraft.

I don't know these but I'm trying to learn :)

You're right, it may be Edward I-IV. And my copy of Spink doesn't have legends.

    Halp!

    scottishmoney Buh bye

Looks EIV to me, the earlier E's did not have that crowned bust, but some of the late EIII's did. But that die match is very EIV to me.

Best as I can tell it is Edward IV, second reign, based on the pierced cross on the obv and the quatrefoil in the center of the rev. I'm not good enough with these and the coin is too worn for me to figure it out. But I think is 1641 XVII - JJ North as reference.
