HELP Please--- New member, Jdarne01, here again asking for help in identifying what I believe to be a "hammered coin". It was among a small collection of mostly British and Canada coins from the 1800's and early 1900's I recently received and have yet to identify, after many hours of reviewing the Krause World Coin Catalogs. While I have zero knowledge of so-called hammered coins, my example, made of copper or bronze, appears crudely formed with large amounts of wear on both surfaces, and has no markings I am familiar with. To my eye, the writing and symbols mostly resemble examples shown in the India-Princely States section of the Krause catalog, but after several reviews I remain unsuccessful in the identification. Any suggestions as to where else to look? All info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
sorry, don't know how to send photo. I realize I'm asking a lot without a photo, but short of spending another couple of hours trying to match up my coin with Krause pictures, I haven't a clue what else might be available to check. Regards.
