Halves - Edge Check Vs. Date/Mint/Condition Check?

So, I am at 65,000 halves searched since I started CRH in January. I always quickly edge check first for silver or bright clad rims, but I also look at the obverse for Date/Mint/Condition of every coin in case I have an upgrade possibility for my grandkids Dansco albums and to look for errors. Got the albums finished plus at least 10 nice dupes for each clad coin in addition to the silver I am accumulating. I've found (1) 1972-D "no FG", (1) 1982-P "no FG", and about (35) 1974-D DDOs which would not have been found had I just edge checked since the rims were not bright and shiny. But, checking every coin with a magnifying glass (due to my old eyeballs) really slows me down to where my non-work hours are only enough to search about 2 boxes per week. So, my question is for the more seasoned half dollar CRHers, do you edge check or do the full "look see" like I do? Thanks.

I use a USB microscope plugged into my laptop. Once it's set up for the field of view I want and focused, I can pop a coin under it and see what I need to see in seconds. I take 1 - 1½ hours for a box but I'm always finding the near clad looking 40%'ers that the edge lookers (and my first look) miss.
