For all you regular roll searchers out there I'm curious who else has found British One Pennys in their rolls. I found two beat up pennies (1917, 1919) in a box one time (bank rolled and sealed). Since their size is basically the same as a half dollar I suppose if one wanted to subsitute a few half dollars with those they could get away with it....maybe someone had a surplus inventory of those?? Anyone else find these before? ....I did find some silver in that box btw.
Large cent A couple months ago was picking up some half rolls and teller ask me if i'd look at one she found she knew it was old but wass't sure what it was . Turned out she had found a large cent in a roll of halfs ..
Half Dollar Searching in Bay Area Hi, I've been roll searching for a while now and found British Penny's in a box too. Just two 67' and 38'. Got ripped off a dollar. Oh well.. What bank do you use to get halves and where do you despose of the ones you don't want? I'm in the bay area too and don't want to get coins from your dump bank. I'm sure you feel the same. We can both benefit. I was getting silver in small amounts for a little while but not significant. Recently I've gotten dry boxes. I order a $500 box once a week. Recently, these seem like ones people have searched. My dump bank is BOA since there's so many of them that you can dump at. I was told they have a large vault in SF with Brinks and all go to the same source. Wells Fargos gets coins from Brinks too. So dumping at BOA is the same as dumping at Wells Fargo. All their coins go to a coin packaging company like Brinks. Please let me know how you're doing on your searches.
