Half Dimes??? Can someone help?

    I had a seller contact me saying that he had 14 half dimes ranging from 1836 to 1863. I am not familiar with this type of coin. Can someone tell me what I should be asking about regarding this coin? (mint mark? condition? key features?) Advice would be appreciated.

    pass - what is that? A sell contacts you with a bunch of liberty seated half dimes?

    What's wrong with that? He knows that I am a coin collector and he contacted me about it. Why do you say pass?
