    Hey everyone,

Got this in my change today!:thumb:

What is it? Is it worth anything or should I put it back in circ?

    Thanks!

    Taxidermist Collector of US/IL/RU/DE

    Haiti, 1905 5 centimes
    Copper-Nickel, 20,000,000 minted
    Obv: President Pierre Nord Alexis
    Rev: National arms

$3 in VF, $10 in XF according to the catalog.

For most people this coin would mean they just lost 25 cents and now they need to get rid of it. I wouldn't have put it into circulation.

Cool! I bought a newspaper for .50 cents and that was apart of my change. So I got paid to take a newspaper? Good deal!

My question is: How did it end up in 'Bama?

That's pretty good condition for the date.

It neewds to be a lot higher though to get much attention. These are quite scarce in XF and better and would be valuable if there were any demand.

I was wondering how such a nice coin got all the way to Connecticut from Haiti in such nice condition. The US had sent a military presence to Haiti back in the day. Then I discovered the W mint mark in KM which means the coin was struck in Waterbury Connecticut. I began to think that the coin never left Connecticut.
